Of Jackson, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the age of 85. He is survived by his wife, Sue Mahoney; four children, Victor Mahoney, Christina Connell, Katheryn (Philip) Burgette and Crystle (Dennis) Parker; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Hayes and Sharon Marcos. Wendell was born to Winfred and Thelma (Dyer) Mahoney on January 7, 1933 in Battle Creek, Michigan. After graduating from Lakeview High School he enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Mahoney returned to Battle Creek and started a family then relocated to Jackson where he was employed with Jackson Drop Forge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball and spending time with his family and cherished his grandchildren. He touched the hearts and lives of many and liked sharing his sense of humor with others. According to his wishes cremation has been chosen and there will be no public service.
