William A. "Bill" Turner

Of Jackson, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the age of 76. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 56 years, Janet; two children, Grant Turner and Jennifer Williams; five grandchildren, Nathaniel (Kristin) Williams, Jaelle (Cory) Williams, Zachary (Lenna) Williams, Kloee Williams and Kaley Williams; seven great grandchildren, Nicholas, Jaire, Maya, Sienna, Amelia, Sunny and Kaygen; as well as many loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Turner. Bill was born in Jackson on October 26, 1937 to Arthur and Genevieve (Kitley) Turner. He graduated from Jackson High. Along with his family, he owned and operated Turner/Powers A.F.C. Home. He was a devoted caregiver and a hardworking family man; he enjoyed an active life and was a talented musician. He touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed. A celebration of his life will be held at Jackson Free Methodist Church (2829 Park Drive Jackson 49203) on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Toby Teague officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. He will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill’s honor may be made to the Jackson Free Methodist Church.
