Of Jackson, MI passed away on September 4, 2012 at the age of 91. William was born on February 1, 1921 to William and Edna Wright. A veteran of World War II, William served with the 79th Infantry and received both the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He worked for the Railroad as an engineer for 38 years and he played with the D & W Ranch Boys band for many years. William is survived by his sons, Albert (Mary), Richard, William and David; grandchildren, Bill, Kenneth, Jaxon, Jenny, Jackie, Tanner, Samantha, Christian and numerous great grandchildren. He is preceded by his siblings, Helen Bush, Ruth Knuston, Bob Wright, Paul Wright, Edna Hammond and Walter Wright. Per his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday September 10, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ (270 Bohne Rd, Grass Lake, MI).
