

Anthony Ray Buie, born on January 26, 1956, was the cherished son of the late Jossie Buie, Sr. and Chrystine Mitchell Buie and brother of the late Jossie Buie, Jr. Survived by a beloved niece Darlene (Albert) Hooker of Brookhaven, MS and two special cousins, Jeffrey Franklin of Atlanta, GA and Doris (Cal) Bruton of Joliet, IL and other great nieces, cousins and relatives.
Anthony (Tony) was blessed with a loving wife Twilah Jetawn Barnes Buie, his soulmate, for 43 wonderful years; two children, Chad Anthony Buie and Natalie Buie Henry; two grandchildren, Delvon Ray Henry and Daniel Tahmiscija.
Anthony (Tony) was a graduate of Brookhaven High School in Brookhaven, MS, and earned a B.S. degree in Informational Technology from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida.
Our beloved Anthony served seven years active duty in the U.S. NAVY and 19 years in the NAVY Reserve, for a total of 26 enjoyable and successful years. Anthony dedicated himself in his work in a second career as an Air Traffic Controller until his retirement in 2011. Jacksonville Naval Air Station was privileged to have Anthony as a volunteer, a service he truly enjoyed with essential assistance to his fellow veterans.
Watching tennis, football and basketball entertained Anthony in his leisure time as did listening to R&B and jazz music.
As the sun sets on Anthony's earthly chapter, his memory still continues to shine brightly in the lives of those he touched.
His presence will be deeply missed but his spirit will live on, a guiding light of love and kindness.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1PM on Feb 28, 2026 at Serenity House, 511 N Church St, Brookhaven Ms.39601
