Well if you are reading this, I have completed my journey in this terrific world. Since my birth in Trenton, New Jersey in 1929, through my life now here in Florida, it has been a wonderful journey, one full of family, friends, travel, art, accomplishments and experiences. With my Air Force husband, John, whose journey ended in 2018, I have lived around the United States with assignments in Maine, Florida, Texas, Georgia, California…finally to Hawaii, where we retired and spent over 30 years before coming to our final home at Fleet Landing in Mayport, Florida to be closer to our son and daughter-in-law Steve & Laurelle, grandchildren Randy & Kacie and great-grands Zoe & Max.
Over the years I found my passions. I learned to paint, mostly self-taught, to create with stained glass, mosaics and more. Later in life I also became an avid runner, completing over 20 Honolulu Marathon and 5 others: New York, Los Angeles…, as well as countless other races of all distances. In the majority I finished in the top 3 of my age group. Who say getting old doesn’t pay! After retirement, John and I traveled, especially to Europe to experience the lands of our heritage, to see the magnificent arts, culture, music, food and history. Along the way we met many interesting people, made many great friends. It was a wonderful life, something I repeated often to Steve and Laurelle over the past year or so. However, it was time to move on to the next phase. To those of you with whom I’ve had the pleasure to interact and get to know, thank you for being part of my life. To those who have taken care of me in my last years, thank you so much for your patience, help and kindness. To all, remember, enjoy this beautiful world, don’t get distracted by the mostly unwarranted negativity, it takes time and joy away from the life you have.
