Elvira Claro Thompson (formerly Elvira Claro Dominquez), age 63, passed away on February 14, 2013 in her home in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. She was born in Sevilla, Spain on August 24, 1949 and, after many travels, decided in 1987 to make Jacksonville Beach her home.
Elvira enjoyed dancing, taking her daily walks, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a good-hearted woman that enjoyed performing good deeds for her family, friends, and even strangers. Her love of children inspired her to be a faithful contributor to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Elvira is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Travis W. Thompson, her five children - James, Richard, Susan, Ruth, and Dolores and 8 grandchildren - Sarah, Connor, Tyler, Rachel, Michael, Sofia, Nicholas, and William and one brother, Jose (Pepe) in Spain.
A celebration of Elvira’s life will be held 2pm Monday, February 18, 2013 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.
