Emma Jane Bass Kleinert

Jane was born in Philadelphia and raised in Merion, Pennsylvania. She attended Lower Merion High School and graduated from Drexel University where she met her husband of 63 years - Robert W. Kleinert. Jane then went to work at ARCO. Bob's career with AT&T transferred the couple around the country to Atlanta, Cincinnati, Ridgewood, Washington, DC and finally, in 1965, to Franklin Lakes, where they raised their three sons, Rick, Bob and Jack. Jane enthusiastically supported her sons' athletic efforts in football, basketball, tennis and baseball and instilled in them determination, self-discipline and the value of sportsmanship. Jane was extremely active herself as she enjoyed playing tennis, paddle tennis, golf and bridge. She was an active volunteer at Ramapo High School, Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ and Grace Methodist Church in Wyckoff, NJ. Jane enjoyed spending summers with her family in Mantoloking, NJ. Upon Bob's retirement, the couple lived in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL while continuing to spend their summers in Mantoloking. She adored her eight grandchildren, Carolyn, Stephanie, Sophie, Jackson, Katelyn, Carlene, John, Kelly and three great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sophia, and Andrew. Jane's devotion to family and friends, her boundless energy, and keen intelligence will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday August 20 at 11 am at Palms Presbyterian Church in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and on Thursday August 22 at 11.30 am at Grace United Methodist Church in Wyckoff, NJ.
