She was preceded in death by her daughter, Harriet Elizabeth Raffo.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, Capt. John L. Holmes, Jr, USN retired, son John L. Holmes III (Teresa), son-in-law Tom Raffo, sister Rose McCall, 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty was an avid member of the “Wednesday Club”, as well as St. Paul’s by the Sea Episcopal Church.
Services will be held 11am Monday, January 30 at St. Paul’s by the Sea Episcopal Church, 465 11th Ave. N. Jacksonville Beach with The Reverend Penny Pfab officiating. A reception will follow the service at St. Paul’s by the Sea. Burial will take place at 2pm following the reception at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 Main St. Jacksonville.
