James Grant Starr

He was born in Detroit, MI on May 7, 1937 and attended E. Detroit High School.

Jim served in the US Army in Fort Monmouth, NJ from 1960-1963

He worked for CSX Corp. and had a passion for golf, Harley Davidson, music and animals.

He is preceded in death by his son, Lewis Preston Starr, his granddaughter, Teal Marie Starr as well as his brother, Robert Starr

He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Starr Golliday (David); step-daughter, Shana Scobey Johnson (Jamie); step-son, Kevin Scobey; grandchildren, Lauren Golliday Zaryk (Matt), Samuel Starr, Trevor Starr, Kandle Starr, Chase Johnson; great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Zaryk; sisters, Kay Marie Fradeneck, Diann Linton, Gail Starr Bell; cousin, Alan Martin, as well as many other aunts, uncles and cousins; and his former spouse and good friend, Charlette Starr.

Services will be held 11 am Friday, January 5, 2018 in the Chapel of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
