Karen Deloach

Karen McDonough DeLoach was born on December 28, 1951, in Jacksonville, Florida, and passed away peacefully in her Jacksonville home on April 25, 2025. She was a woman of quiet strength, deep faith, and boundless love.

She was the devoted mother of Tanner DeLoach (Carlene, Wyatt and Owen), Taylor DeLoach (Keiliane, Sebastian and Abby) and Hayley Conwell (Jason, Emma and Becca). She was a beloved "Grammie" to her six grandchildren. Karen was a sister to John McDonough (Mitzi, Patrick and Sean) & Danielle McDonough (Molly, Scott, Jeramie and Braxton).

Karen had many passions and interests throughout the time she spent with us. She served her community as a Librarian at St. John’s County for over five years and was even a Jazzercize instructor in the ‘80’s at a local Beaches studio. During her younger years in Chicago, she loved riding horses and playing pranks with her siblings.

Karen adored the ocean and Jesus — her faith was unshakable and a guiding light in her life. She was proud to have served on a mission trip to Guyana with her daughter in 2001. She loved sharing the word of God and served as a Children’s Bible School Teacher at Jacksonville Beach Church of Christ and later became a member of Eleven22.

Karen was always full of joy and laughter. Everyone who knew her has a story to share about her playful personality. While growing up in Jacksonville, attending Robert E. Lee High School class of 1970, and all throughout her life, she cherished time with her friends and family, always knowing how to be silly and lighthearted. Her playful spirit and sense of humor made her a pleasure to be around.

Karen found peace in reading, watching movies and nature shows, and especially spending time with her family. Her warmth, wisdom, and kindness touched everyone who knew her, and her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she loved. She found a special comfort in studying the Word of God and developing her friendship with our Lord, Jesus Christ.
