The world has lost a wonderful woman, but God has gained an angel. Karen Anna Whittemore lost her battle with uterine cancer. She was 64 years old. She died peacefully at home in Jacksonville, Florida on Wednesday, February 13th.
Karen was born on October 28, 1949 in a small town called Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. Her mother and father, Kathleen and Red Burrows, moved her to Hollywood, Florida and blessed her with three siblings; Bradley, Joyce and Cindy. She graduated from South Broward High School and married the love of her life, David Whittemore. Together, they have two children; David and Tracey.
Karen loved animals, especially horses, dogs and squirrels. She loved to read, listen and dance to music, and loved watching old movies. But what she enjoyed doing the most was spending time with her grandchildren; Kayleigh, Hannah, Bradley, Trey, Emma, Ella, David, Jack and Kai.
The family will receive friends for a visitation, from 6-8 p.m. Friday (TODAY), at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow in Beaches Memorial Park.
