Leon B. Smith, 71, of Jacksonville Beach, passed away Friday, October 19, 2018. He was born in Munich, Germany on July 2, 1947. He attended The University of Illinois - Chicago. Leon married Donna Nylen on November 16, 1968.

He owned the Palatine News Agency in Palatine, Ill. He was a member of Biltmore Country Club in North Barrington, Ill. and had a passion for golf, billiards and travel.

Leon is survived by his wife; sons, CJ and Steven (Stacy Siciliano); grandchildren, Connor Lee, Tyler David, Cameron Andrew, and Kaitlyn Elizabeth.

Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday, October 23 at 6 pm with visitation 2-hours before at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach.
