Margaret was born in Cambridge, MA on May 18, 1928. She worked as a dancer, as well as working in retail and hotel management. She met her future husband at the Old Howard Theater in Boston, MA, where she danced her way in to his heart. She married Lt. Cdr. James L. Lemaster, USN Ret. on December 10, 1949 and they were married for 53 years before his death on July 25, 2003. She also worked with Sears for 30 years, the Econo Lodge and Best Westerns for 20 years.
Margaret was a member of the St. Paul’s Catholic Church’s St. Martha’s Circle. She enjoyed her life as a Navy wife with all the adventurous travel that came with it. In addition, she enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, volunteering, and cooking. She was a compassionate person and anyone who met her, loved her. Her smile attracted everyone. Her passions were her faith in God, the Catholic Church, and most of all, her family.
Margaret was survived by four children; Frank D. Lemaster (Deborah Van Sack), Patricia A. Patton, Debra J. Egelston, and Kenneth J. Lemaster. In addition, she is survived by her eight grandchildren; Leeanne J. Lemaster, Frank D. Lemaster II, Kristie M. Vasconcellos (Jose II), David J. Egelston, Sean J. Braybrooks, Kenneth J. Lemaster II (Jessica) Ian B. Lemaster (Cecilia), Faren D. Lemaster (Savannah), 12 great-grandchildren, and loving nieces and nephews all over the country.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 2:00pm, March 17, 2018, at H. Warren Smith Cemetery.
