Margaret was a wonderful woman who was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Our “Mimi,” as she liked to be called by her grandsons; “Willie,” as she was called by one of her dearest friends Shirley; and GREAT Aunt Margaret by many nieces and nephews was an amazing mom, sister, and friend.
Margaret was born on December 27th 1944, the child of the late Helen & Dorson Reynolds. She was born in Jacksonville and spent her life making many lifelong friends. She graduated from Technical High School. Margaret had many jobs throughout her life including a candy girl at the Florida Theater, twenty-five years with Blazer Financial and finishing off her working career at Honeywell Blount Island Command. She created life long friends every place she worked. Her most cherished job was being a mom. She spent her life devoted to raising and loving her only child me, Blenda Berrier. Then embraced the role of Mimi and was devoted to caring for and loving her grandsons Alec and Bryce. They were truly the light of her life.
My mother was loved by so many. She always knew how to brighten someone's day and make them feel loved. She treated everyone with kindness and respect. She found her true happiness when she was surrounded by children which is why she was always the first to volunteer to work in the church nursery. At any family gathering, she could be found playing a game of Twister or teaching the kids the latest line dance.
Margaret is survived by her Daughter, Blenda Hughes Berrier and son-in-law Aaron Berrier. Sisters Constance Schultz (Kenny) and Angela Wallace (Jim); Brothers Edwin Wigelsworth (Pilar) and Lonnie Parker. She is predeceased by her brother Donald Reynolds.
The role of caretaker shifted from my mom taking care of me and my family to us caring for her. Dementia is an awful disease.
A celebration of Mimi’s life will be held on Saturday, September 5th, 1:00 P.M. at Lake Shore Baptist Church, 2365 Blanding Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32210.
