Maria Morgan-Barton, 60, passed away January 30, 2015. Born in Barcelona, Spain, she moved to Columbus, OH with her family as a child. She eventually relocated to Jacksonville where she lived for more than 30 years. Maria enjoyed shopping for antiques, dining out and spoiling her grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Carmen & Loyal Thomas; sister, Nuria, niece, Natasha, and husband Willard Morgan, she leaves to mourn her passing, husband Gene Barton; children, Jason Morgan and Nicole Taylor (James); step-daughter, Shelley Neaves; brother, Loyal Thomas, Jr.; sisters, Laura Thomas and Pilar Elizondo; and grandchildren, Madison & Nathan Morgan, Dacota, Ethan & Makieya Taylor, Reagan Barton and Natalie Neaves. A service to celebrate Maria’s life will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1st in the Chapel of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach FL.
