Mary Edna Fortenberry

Mary Edna Winslett Fortenberry, 93, passed away on January 17, 2015 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born and raised in Augusta, GA where she acquired her nursing degree from University Hospital. She has been a Jacksonville native for 52 years. She was member of the Fraternal Order of Police Ladies Auxiliary Lodge 17, Sacred Heart Spiritual Society, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and St. Paul’s Catholic Church. She was always full of life and ready to dance.

Mary is preceded by her late husband Hewlett Lee Fortenberry whom with had a 36 year marriage. Mary is survived by her, Son Robert Lee Fortenberry, Daughter Janice Marie Fortenberry, Grandson David Fortenberry, Grandson Christopher Fortenberry, Granddaughter Athena Fortenberry, 6 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild.

Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Beaches Chapel (904)249-2374 located 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday January 22, 2015 @ 11 am with Fr. William Kelly officiating at the funeral home. Her final resting place will be at EVERGREEN Cemetery immediately following the service.
