Micah Ethan Baughman, age 25, of St Augustine, FL, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, at Hospice in Jacksonville, FL. Born on May 9, 2000, to his beloved mother, Micah spent his entire life in the Sunshine State, where his roots were planted deeply in the sands of its beautiful beaches. Micah served his community with dedication and honor as a Corrections Officer at Lake Butler Reception & Medical Center and on to his favorite job of Public Service Assistant officer and later as a Beach Assistant Officer for St. John’s County Sherriff’s Department. His strong work ethic and commitment to service were evident to all who knew him. Micah's love for his community was only surpassed by his love for the outdoors. An avid fisherman and hunter, he found unparalleled joy in shark tooth hunting and enjoying a day at the beach, a testament to his adventurous spirit. He relished any chance to soak up the sun's rays, whether it was on the beach or during a wilderness adventure. His beautiful smile and best manners made him a beacon of positivity to those around him. Micah was a people pleaser, always seeking to make others feel comfortable and welcomed. His competitive spirit shone during family game nights, where UNO, Yahtzee and Scrabble were his games of choice. Micah had an innate love for all creatures, great and small, demonstrating a compassion that transcended from humans to animals. Micah is survived by his loving mom, Shenri Baughman, his cherished Yia Yia, (Grandma) and his beloved Aunt Shannon Wilson. He was a pillar of strength and a source of joy for his family, and his absence will be profoundly felt. Micah's family would like to express their deep gratitude to the Nurses and Doctor’s of Mayo Clinic and Hospice staff in Jacksonville for their compassionate care in his final days. Micah's life was a testament to the power of service, the joy of adventure, and the importance of family. His legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know him. While we mourn his untimely departure, we also celebrate his life, full of love, laughter, and unending dedication to all things he held dear. Micah, you will be missed, but your spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone you've touched.
