Nila Jean Harding, 69, went home to be with the Lord on December 4, 2012. A native of Jacksonville Beach, she was born August 11, 1943. Nila graduated from Fletcher High School in 1961. She was a devoted Sunday School teacher, PTA mom, and band mom. Nila enjoyed spending time with her family and making the holidays extra special. She was always ready to assist others and was known for her generous spirit.
Nila is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Bob Harding; mother Leatrice Parkinson; children Bobby (Rebecca) Harding and Holly Harding; brother Dick (Susanne) Parkinson, Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father Richard R. Parkinson, Sr. and her son Ronnie Harding.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday, December 6 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville Beach. A celebration of Nila’s life will be held 11am Friday December 7, also at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Beaches Memorial Park in Atlantic Beach.
