

Dr. Richard Samuel Bach, 76, of Miami, Florida, passed away Friday, June 8, 2012 at home with his family. Dr. Bach was born September 9, 1935 in Shickshinny, Pa. He attended Syracuse University and earned his doctorate degree from University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Bach actively served as Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy and the Naval Reserves. Upon honorable discharge from the military, he moved to Miami, and has practiced dentistry in Homestead, Florida, for forty years. Richard was an active Board member of Bob Jones University. He was a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association and the East Coast Dental Society. The American Academy of Implant Dentistry granted Dr. Bach the title of Fellow. Dr. Bach was honored and knighted as Commander of Grace by the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem Knights of Malta. Dr. Bach was an avid pilot, golfer, and fisherman. His greatest passions, however, were his family, friends, patients, and faith in Jesus Christ. Dr. Bach is survived by his lovely wife of 52 years, Carol Ann Kidder Bach, and by his two children and their families: Dr. Tracey Bach David and her husband Dr. Roy David and their children Andrew, Adam, and Sarah of Jacksonville, Florida; and Chaplain, Lt. Col. Richard S. Bach Jr. and his wife Heidi Bach and their children Joshua, Moriah, Rebecca, and Nathan of Bangor, Maine. He is also survived by one brother, Alan Bach of Pennsylvania. Family will receive friends from 9-10am Friday, June 15 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville Beach. Funeral service will follow at 10am, and interment will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C., or the National Kidney Foundation, Inc.
