Richard Julio Bosio

Richard Bosio, 87, of Jacksonville Beach, passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023. He was born in Sommerville, MA on Oct. 2, 1936. Shortly after school, he entered in the U.S. Navy. He proudly served as a Plank Owner and Airman on the newly commissioned USS Saratoga. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he completed a 2-year program at the Aviation Electronics School in Boston, MA. Richard had a career in the Aerospace Defense industry working for Raytheon, Honeywell, and Recon Optical, Inc. as the Director of Facilities Planning.

He had a passion for competitive tennis and golf for pleasure. He loved to cook and being with his family at all times. Richard married Theda Fien Bosio on Sept. 2, 1984. They recently celebrated 39 years of marriage.

In addition to his devoted wife, Theda, he is survived by his loving daughter, Patricia Bosio Berry (husband, Mike Berry); sister, Terry Bosio McClure (husband, Jerry McClure); and brothers, Arthur Bosio (wife, Kerry Bosio) and Augustine Bosio (wife, Irene Bosio). He will be forever missed by all those who loved him.

The family will receive friends for a visitation at 2:15pm- 3pm, Wednesday, Dec. 6th , at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL. The funeral will begin immediately follow the visitation at 3pm at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest, with military honors, at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, on Thursday, Dec. 7th at 10am.
