Condolences to the Medley family.  I got to know Bob when he was doing the Wimpy Wonders Exercise class in the FJHS gym...must have been mid 70s.  He and my mother were both committed to losing some weight and getting fit with Wimpy in honor of their families but especially children. I always respected that and admired the extraordinary effort he made. Plus he always made all the efforts more fun. He had a great sense of humor. 

We are so sorry to learn of Bob’s passing. Bob was a wonderful man and a great friend for over 50 years. We were blessed to know and spend time with Bob and Patsy when Trish and Robin were  toddlers.  Our prayers and sympathy to all the family .

My wife, Marsha, and I first met Bob almost a year ago. We met playing Trivia at the VFW at Jacksonville Beach. It was my first time playing the game and I was surprised to find that I liked it so much. Liking the game of Trivia is dependent on a couple of things. First the people in the team and second the challenge level of the game. Marsha and I first joined the team on Saturday evenings and later, we joined the team every Monday as well. At our table, we often played the game by "consensus", comparing partial knowledge for some of the craziest questions put forward. Bob might have the answer to some detail about the NASCAR races while his wife, Carla, having worked in a library, would answer a broad range of other questions. Working as a team, we have gotten to know people's background and interests. As time passed, more people joined our group and we split into a second team. Depending on what day of the week it was and who arrived to play Trivia, we divided into a second team of 4, 5, or 6 players and picked a different team name. We sat at neighboring tables, and teased the "founding" group about which team would get the most answers correct. Bob usually sat closest to our table so we would heckle Bob and he would playfully heckle us back. His personality was most pleasant and we all got along. One time Bob and I had a chance to talk after all the Trivia activity and he told me about working with the Electric Power Company. I had a background in electronics and computers so we connected right away.  Bob told me about how as communities grew, the electric power weakened at the end of the line and as a team, they had to fix the drop in power. He said that additional power lines could get out of phase with existing power lines over distance and fixing power drop could get difficult. I found our talk interesting. I am going to miss Bob and our conversations. Victor and Marsha Cymbalski


My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.  We lived next door to the Medley's.   I was just a small boy watching Bob grow into the man he became. He was sort of a role model with for us with his football stardom and ability to work on cars. We would often get him to chase us.  He was always happy to answer all the kids questions no matter what they were.  Nothing but good memories with Bob and his family.

I met Bob over 40 years ago and always enjoyed being in the company of Him and Carla. RIP my Friend🙏 You will be missed.

Bob was a sweet man whom I’ve known for over 40 years. So many fond memories but one of the sweetest is sharing time  with Bob and Carla on Wimpy’s porch for breakfast. I always loved seeing him at all the Beaches Museum events , whether as a volunteer or attendee. I will miss his big smile and great hugs. My prayers to Carla and his family for peace at this difficult time.
