

Vivian Juanita Feit-Karakos, 81, born in Troy, Ohio, on January 26, 1930, businesswoman and loving mother and wife, enjoyed travel--Greece, Italy, Spain, the South of France, the mountains and people of Guatemala. She was a talented cook (Her chicken cacciatore was sublime.), and she had a great passion for flowers.
In the 70s, she co-owned and ran the Carleton Motor Lodge in Neptune Beach, and in the 80s and 90s, Yours Truly flower shop in Jacksonville Beach. She also worked as a hostess at the Sea Turtle Restaurant in Atlantic Beach.
On Friday, at 11:55 p.m., she lost a long and hard-fought battle with Parkinson’s, a cruel and relentless disease.
She lived with her husband Jim Karakos at their home in Atlantic Beach.
She is survived by Jim and her children Amy, (Tim), Tracy, (Rick), Sally, (Larry), Sherry, (Moctar), Stephen and Rodney; grandchildren Chris, Adam, Zane, Eddie, Nataleigh, Chelsie, Holland, Sydney, Erika, Tara, Jeremiah and Elliott; great grandchildren Michael, Ella, Ruby, Makiya, Isolde and Colt.
A memorial service will be Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at Hardage Giddens at 1701 Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida at 4266 Sunbeam Rd, Jacksonville, FL, 32257.
