William Carson Myers, 60, was received into the arms of Jesus on July 11, 2014. Bill was the youngest of three boys born to Ann Elizabeth and Thomas W. Myers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 5, 1954. Bill met his wife of 36 years, Abby, in 9th grade homeroom at Duncan U. Fletcher High School in August of 1968. They graduated class of 1972 and were married by Fr. William Kelly at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in 1978. Bill attended Springfield Elementary School in Orland, Pennsylvania, Atlantic Beach Elementary School, Fletchers Middle and High Schools. He graduated School of Business from the University of Florida in 1981, Dean’s List.
As a professional salesman, Bill’s medical career began with Smith Kline French in the early 80’s, Burron Medical Co. until 1989, and for the past 25 years plus, Bill was a member of Stryker Surgical Corporation, a career he revered. Bill’s priority, passion, devotion, and dedication was to his family, taking the role of provider and protector very seriously. Having grown up in Neptune Beach, he took great joy raising his family in the surf and sand of South Street, taking exciting family vacations and welcoming many to the home he affectionately referred to as “Emma.” Bill’s random acts of kindness and selflessness were motivated by his keen intuition of others in need and he frequently and quietly spread generosity with a smile and loving heart. He fought an inspirational and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer to his last breath with unshakable faith and positivity.
Bill is survived by his wife of 36 years, Abby, his son Jimmy, daughter-in-law, Katie, and grandson Henry James. He leaves cherished nieces, nephews, great-niece, great-nephews, God child, colleagues, customers and life-long friends. Bill was welcomed into Heaven’s Gate by his brother and best friend James Fahey Myers, parents Tom and Ann Elizabeth Myers and only daughter, Suzanne Abigail Myers.
In his final weeks Bill requested all who are able to attend his home going celebration wear a color that makes them happy. Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens (904) 249-2374.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July, 18, 2014 at 11:00am at St. Paul’s Catholic Church located 212 5th St. North, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250 with Fr. Ed Murphy as Celebrant.
