

Alfred C. Seablom, Jr., known to his loved ones as "Pa", passed away on January 26, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of 94. He was born on April 7, 1929, in New York, NY. Alfred was a humble man who achieved much in his lifetime and lived it with integrity and purpose.
Alfred is survived by daughter Theresa Joseph (Bradford), of Jacksonville, granddaughters Kara Joseph of New York, NY, Jennifer Hughes (Ryan) of Charleston, SC; son Michael Seablom (Kimberly), granddaughters Elizabeth and Natalie Seablom, all of Washington, DC., as well as niece and nephew Patricia Ryan and Robert Ryan of Jacksonville. He is predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Jeanne, his parents, Alfred Sr. and Ann Seablom, and his sister Dorothy Ryan.
Alfred served in the Florida Air National Guard for 35 years, which included a tour of duty with the Air Force during the Korean War. He achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant during his service with the Florida Air National Guard. In 1962 he graduated from Jacksonville University with a BS degree in Accounting and began his lengthy career of public service. Alfred achieved the position of Deputy Comptroller with the federal government while based at Cecil Field NAS. Alfred shared his love of accounting as an adjunct professor at Florida State College of Jacksonville (then Florida Junior College) for many years. Alfred was a major presence at the Jax Navy Federal Credit Union (now Vystar) as a dedicated member and as the head of the Supervisory Committee to the Board of Directors for 40 years. Following his civil service retirement, Alfred became the long-serving financial manager of Starbase Florida, a Department of Defense youth outreach program. His dedication to learning and his commitment to his country were evident throughout his life. Alfred was a longtime member of Riverside Avenue Christian Church in Jacksonville. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed golf, and loved traveling to visit family on vacations.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida.
In memory of Alfred, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, a cause that was important to him. Alfred C. Seablom, Jr. will be remembered for his quiet strength, his dry sense of humor, his love for his family, and his unwavering commitment to his principles. May his soul rest in peace.
