

Alice Frances Cowen Moore, 90, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012. Born on July 5, 1921 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island to David and Alice Cowen. The middle child of six children. She was nick named “Topsy” by her family and childhood friends. Known for her colorful stories describing life in her neighborhood where she lived until her marriage. These memories are indelibly etched in the minds of her children and grandchildren. Alice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had many joys in life, but her time spent with family is what she valued most. Her cooking talents provided many a family feast and her amiable personality enhanced the shared enjoyment. Granny lived a full and blessed life and will be forever remembered by her loved ones. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of sixty five years, Aaron “Frank” Moore; daughters, Bettye Jo Clemons (Jim) and Barbara Wallace (Bill); grandchildren, Leslie McAtee (Sean), Nicole Lewis (Chip) and Jason Wallace; great-grandchildren, Andrew “Drew” McAtee, John Michael McAtee and Bauer Lewis; and Katherine Sherman, granny loved her as her own granddaughter. The family visitation to greet friends will be held on Friday (today), February 10, 2012 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11:00am, Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 8523 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. 32221. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL.
