Allen “Jaymeson” Self passed away on November 27, 2020 in Palatka, Florida at the young age of 18. He was born on July 11, 2002 in Highland Park, Illinois. A recent graduate of Interlachen High School, Allen was happily working for Sims Aluminum Construction.
For anyone who really knew him you know Allen Jaymeson had a deep compassion for his family, friends, hobbies, and was always the hardest worker in the room. He was kind, loyal, playful, and goofy with a gentleness that was easy to relate to. He would light up a room wherever he went, wanted everyone around him to be happy, and would take the shirt off his back for anybody. He brought light, laughter, music, and comfort to those around him
His time on earth may have been short, but oh-the things he fit in. His love of cars began as a toddler, which included him calling out, literally, every mustang on BOTH sides of the road from his car seat. As he got older, he found a love for baseball where many friendships were formed, late nights were shared and game balls won. As his teenage years approached his interests changed and the “country boy” was born. Baseball bats and dirty cleats were traded in for dirt bikes, fishing poles, compound bows, rifles and of course boots (but he always held on to his Sperry’s). In High School his passion for cars returned, and with that came his love (an maybe even a slight obsession) with trucks. We all know Ford took the top spot, and the taller, the louder, the bigger, the muddier, the more squatted the better! His love of trucks was a true passion and paved the road to what I believe he referred to as a brotherhood.
Preceded in death by his grandparents Jay and Muriel Self and his uncle George Whaley, Allen leaves behind many. He is survived by his Parents Tammy (Mitchel) Poole and Duane (Sara) Self, his brother Cameron Self, his sisters Victoria (Brandon) Evans, Zoe, Masey and Emma, his niece Ashleigh and nephew Chase, multiple grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and so many more!
Whether you knew him as Allen, Jaymeson, AJ, Bug, Cletus, Champ, Bubbie, Dude or any other nickname we wish you only the best memories of your time together. May you always remember how very much he loved life and how much he enjoyed his time with each and every one of you!
