Barbara Cowles Torres

Barbara Cowles Torres, age 52, passed away on August 29, 2012 after a long illness with Multiple System Atrophy. Barbara was born in Jacksonville, FL on September 9, 1959 to the late Albert and Mary Cowles. She grew up in Jacksonville Beach and graduated from Fletcher High School in 1978. Barbara was loved by all of her family and will be missed by everyone whose life she touched. Barbara was employed for many years with the Marriott Hotels. She was very active at Christ’s Church and loved her many wonderful friends in the singles class. She loved camping, cooking, working in her yard, and doing things for the less fortunate.

Survived by her 3 children, Frank Buhidar, Brett Buhidar(Amber), and Marissa Torres. Two beautiful grandchildren, Lauren and Lucas Buhidar. She is also survived by her siblings, Robert Cowles (Barbara), Lawrence Cowles (Patricia), Nancy Silas (Morris), Marion Mann (Allen), Col. Elizabeth Harrell (Brinkley) and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank her very special niece, her main caregiver, Deborah Connell with whom she resided. Deborah unconditionally loved and cared for Barbara. Also, many thanks to caregiver, Joyce Ricketts, who along with Deborah, cared for Barbara.
