Dear Uncle Howard, David, Gary, Julie and family,
We are so shocked and sad to hear about Aunt Betty, who was your best friend, loving mother and grandmother as well as a wonderful aunt.
I truly know how unbelievably sad you are and how much you are already missing her. She would want you to hold one another, comfort one another and even shed tears together because of the special bond she had with each of you.  God has given us tears to use to help soothe our grief so don't be afraid to shed them as often as you need to do so.
Aunt Betty always had a sweet spirit about her and always saw the good and positive in those around her.  She also trusted her faith to sustain her through her health issues.
She and I had some time at the reunion to share our feelings about our kidney issues. She told me how excited she was about being on the transplant list and how her health and life would change for the better.  Only God knows why he felt it was time for her to begin her life in her heavenly home now, but I am sure that she entered there with a smile on her face and her Mom, Dad, brother and my Dad welcomed her with open arms.
You will all be in our thoughts and prayers now and in the days ahead.

Howard, our heartfelt sympathy is extended to you and your family. You and Betty were dear friends to us, when we lived in Jacksonville. She was one of my faithful email buddies. I surely will miss her.

Words cannot express the overwhelming sadness in my heart over the loss of this precious member of our family...(the one you love more than life...the Mom who was treasured...the Grand-mother who was adored)...will be greatly missed. 
I'm so very thankful for the time we spent together when you (Howard) and Betty were in Louisville a few weeks ago.  We truly had a great time...lunch at Blooms, shopping, stopping by to see an old friend...just girl time...smile.  These are treasured memories.
All of you are in my heart and prayers...I know the days ahead will be most challenging...especially for you Howard...the world probably seems to be crumbling around you...all of you have experienced a crushing loss.
The only word of encouragement I can share (from experience) is...'our strength and hope is in Jesus alone...hang onto Him with all the strength you can muster...stay in His WORD daily...and allow yourself room to grieve...don't hold back the tears...they are healing to your soul...God will carry you through...this you can be sure of.  Jesus is our life line...
In spite of the grief...I smile when I see all our family together in Heaven...I just know her big brother...my precious George...was one of the first to give her a great big hug.
Also, you can rest assured (like I told my George) her beautiful mansion was completely finished right down to last gold door knob...or the LORD would not have called her home.
One day, sooner than later, we'll all be together for eternity...AND, what a day that will be when our Savior we shall see...when we look upon His face and see the wonders of His grace...when He takes us by our hand and leads us to the Promised Land...what a day, Glorious Day, that will be.
Take good care of yourselves and may God's favor, blessings and peace rest upon each of you.

My heartfelt prayers go to the entire Bruner family.  However, there is no doubt that she is wrapped in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior. May that bring you peace to know she is in the BEST hands.

We made many memories together as our daughters went through their teenager years together.
