Betty Hobby Danese

Her Ashes will be interred at 2:00 p.m on Friday June 20, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 11757 Old St. Augustine Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32258

She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Cecil Hobby & mother, Mittie Pauline Hewett Jones.

She is survived by her loving husband, who was by her side until the very end, Richard Henry Danese, 2 daughters, Kandi Ranson, Tina White & Son-in-Law Augustine White, & Son Nathan Danese; 3 Sisters, Carol Hobby Jervis, Crystal Hobby Homer(John), Jan Hobby Tau(Jim). She’s also survived by many grandchildren, nieces, & nephews.

Kandi’s children: Trashelle Minster(Monica), Heather Paukova(Denis), & David Price Jr.; Tina’s Children: Kirstin Holthouse, Christene Holthouse Hooper(Slater), Destiny Reese Edwards(Vincent), Victoria White Cassidy(Owen), Jewel White, Emma White, Anastasia White, & Gracey White; Carol’s Children: Angela Francisco Doudney(David), Eric Francisco(Tonya); Crystal’s son, Robert Hobby(Jenny); Jan’s children: Jason Tau(Dani), Jana Tau Bidle(Chris), & Jared Tau; & 16 great & great great grandchildren/nieces/nephews. Also, Betty’s best friend Lynn & a plethora of other family, friends, & loved ones.

As a young woman Betty led a very adventurous life backpacking across the country. As she started having children she settled down. At one point she co-owned & ran a used furniture shop, which she was very proud of. She had a very fulfilling life, having raised her children & spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren & great grandchildren; all the while focusing on her passions of family, fish, birds, & video games. She was very loving & always there for everyone; whether to lend a shoulder to cry on, tell old stories or listen & laugh together, give great advice, play games, or just spend time together & have a good meal.

Our lives are better for having you in them & you will be greatly missed!
