

Bruce was a Technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1 November 1972 when he received his draft notice until 1 November 1992 when he retired after 20 years of honorable service to his country. Bruce did remote overseas duties which took him away from family, sometimes for a year at a time! He went on multiple missions where he would be gone for weeks or months. Bruce was part of an elite security forces team that was deployed worldwide.
While in the Air Force, he earned his Associates Degree as well and his Bachelor’s Degree. He also volunteered with the youth centers on base contributing his off time to the many military kid’s sports that were available. Bruce was also a Cub Scout den leader for three years.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Walter Murr, brother Doug Murr, and sister Bea Murr. He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Judith Murr, son Bruce Murr, Jr., daughter in law Lisa Duncan Murr, daughter Danyel Becker, son in law Chris Becker, granddaughters Maci and Aubrey Murr, nephew Doug Murr, Jr. of St. Augustine. Extended family includes Maureen Jordan, Dottie & Robbie Demann, Robin Regina, and Justin & Peyton Plank.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218. Please line up in Lane 1 for the service.The family asks that you wear casual clothing to the service as that’s what Bruce would have wanted.
