Burnez Ethridge Bowles passed away on June 4, 2012. She was born in Panama City, Florida on October 31, 1930 and grew up in Chipley, Florida where she met and married in 1948 Milton C. Bowles, (deceased). They moved to Jacksonville permanently in 1962. Burnez became active in her community working at her community club, voting precinct, and promoting her favorite Republican candidates. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing canasta, and cooking for her friends. In her later years she was baptized and became a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Mickler (Russell), sons Tony Bowles (Cindy), and Dennis Bowles, brother, Eugene Ethridge (Mary), granddaughter Shelly Green (Chris), grandson, Anthony Bowles (Joy) and six great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. A visitation will be held at 10am, Thursday June 7, 2012 followed by graveside service at 11 am. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to St. Catherines Laboure Manor or Jacksonville Humane Society.
