

Carl E. Fletcher, 83, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2015 at St. Vincent’s Hospital (Riverside) surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Homer, LA on September 9, 1932 to Alvin Neal and Willie Mae Rodgers Fletcher who both preceded him in death. Carl served faithfully and honorably in the United States Navy and was a dedicated LSU “Tiger” fan. He was retired from the US Postal Service. He worked as the Head of Security at Ramona Flea Market and served many seasons as a baseball coach at Lakeshore Ball Park. He is a member of the American Legion; Post 137.Carl enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his love, support, encouragement and care for others. Carl provided well for his family and was cherished by all. He was kind, generous and helpful to everyone who knew him. He is survived by his wife Nancy Fletcher; sons Danny Fletcher (Toni Hogue); Doug Fletcher (Hollie); daughters Debbie Stern; Donna Horton; Nancy Fletcher’s sister Jeanie Brown (Herb Brown, deceased); his brothers Bill Fletcher and Neal Fletcher; sister Blanche Sykes; 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a visitation on Friday, June 26 at 12:00. The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, June 26 at1:00 pm with the interment immediately following at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park.
