

Charles J. Clark “Chuck”, 81 years old, passed away on February 28, 2025 at his home, surrounded by family, following an extended illness. Chuck was born in Bennettsville, South Carolina, and lived his early years at Connie Maxwell Children’s Home in Greenwood, South Carolina until he graduated high school. After high school, he joined the military proudly serving in the United States Navy.
From the Navy, Chuck spent most of his life in Jacksonville, Florida, moving to Macclenny in 2009, to be closer to family. After several different jobs, he started his career in the insurance business where he was an independent agent for Nationwide Insurance for over 25 years. He married the “light” of his life in October 1979, Nancy, and they spent 46 years together enjoying their family and traveling. Chuck will always be remembered as an amazing husband, father and most of all, Papa. He was always up for an adventure with his grandchildren and spent many days at the lake, the park feeding the ducks, ball fields, water parks, go-cart tracks, and playing laser tag. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. He was preceded in death by his son, Clint Johnson and his sister, Linda Moran.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Clark of Macclenny, FL; children, Angie (Rick) Crews of Glen St. Mary, FL and David (Christine) Clark of Crawfordville, FL; daughter-in-law, Jerrie (Dale) Futch of Sanderson, FL; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, David and Philip Clark.
A visitation for Charles will be held Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. Followed by a celebration of life at 10:00 AM with his grandson, Brandon Crews officiating the service. A committal will occur Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
