Charles Browning Coates, born 5/20/1947, passed away peacefully at his home in Yulee Florida surrounded by family and loved ones 3/30/2025. He was the only son of the Late Voris Browning Coates and Roberta Mize Coates of Princeton WV and was also preceded in death by one daughter Brittney Gail Coates.
Survived by his wife Rebecca Lovejoy of Yulee Florida, Son, Charles Browning Coates Jr and wife Lisa, Daughter, Randi Daniel McBride, Grandsons, Cody B Coates and wife Brooke, Casey J Coates, Hezekiah Weatherly, Saulyer Weatherly, Greyson Weatherly all of Princeton WV and GrandDaughter Destiny Wagers of Yulee Florida. He also fathered through life Angel Knight, and Mendy Bowls of Athens WV, Eddie Pucket and Maria Pucket Jarrell of Boone County WV and Bridgett Marlow and husband John Marlow of Yulee Florida. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran who served in the Vietnam War and worked 27 years in the coal mining industry, he retired as a USPS Postmaster. He enjoyed the outdoors and was always up for an adventure, fast cars, boating, motorcycles, camping, fishing and hunting. He was there for his friends and family as he will be missed dearly.
