Clara E. Rose

Clara Estelle Rose, 90 passed away on May 30, 2013 with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. Clara was preceded in death by her parents; Effie and Clinton Settle Register and sister, Dorothy Sue Wright, brother, William Clinton Register and niece, Patricia Wilkinson Payne. She is survived by her son, Elwood E. “Skip” Rose, Jr., daughter-in-law, Cynthia “Cindy” Bennett Rose, sisters; Mildred Lucas and Gloria Wilkinson (Robert) grandson, Eric Rose (Heidi), granddaughters; Mindie Rose, Barbara Mills (Joey) & Terri Megan Copper (Adam) and great-granddaughters; Autumn, Audrey, Mackenzie Rose, Briana & Alece Palmer, Danielle Copper, Mariah, Dakota & Trinity Mills, nieces; Mae Linda Register and Julie Wilkinson, nephew Matthew Register and great-nephew Bryan Fuchs. A graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in 1941, Clara went on to attend Jones College, Business College for women. Clara retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida in 1984 where she worked for 26 years. In 1966, when Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida was awarded Florida’s first contract to administer the Medicare Insurance Program, Clara was a key contributor in the successful implementation of the program. Clara dearly loved spending time with her family, especially her 9 great-granddaughters. She loved and mothered them all. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home located at 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jax. FL 32205. A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 4:00-6:00 pm. Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013, 2:00 pm at Riverside Memorial Park located at 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jax., FL 32205. Pastor Tim McDaniel officiating.
