David Victor Zane Carrin, Sr., age 72, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT, resulting from complications following chemotherapy for small cell cancer of the bladder. David and his wife, Ruth, were serving a Mission as Military Relations Coordinators for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints in Salt Lake City, UT. David is survived by his wife, Ruth; 5 children, Kim, David, Jr., Christina, Patrick, Paula, and several grand and great- grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, David Gray Carrin, his mother, Flori Christine Jewel Carrin; brothers, John and Kenneth; sisters, Dorothy , Joyce, and Sarah. The family visitation to greet friends will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at The Firestone Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints, 5100 Firestone Rd., Jacksonville, FL. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, 11:00am, February 2, 2013 at The Firestone Chapel, with Bishop Jason Rader officiating. Funeral Service will conclude at the Church. Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Monday, 11:30am, February 4, 2013 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd., Jacksonville, FL. 32218. Burial will be at Jacksonville National Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home.
