April 9, 1938 - March 8, 2022
David Sebastian Nisbett (Nabbs) was born on April 9, 1938 in Cotton Ground, Nevis, to Joseph Browne and Vivian Nisbett Browne. By the time he completed his education he was representing his country and the Leeward Island as an outstanding cricketer. In the early 70s he migrated to Bermuda where he continued his notable cricket course as an integral member of the Western Stars cricket club (Champion’s League Champs). He was especially known as an exceptional medium pace bowler but was also an impressive all-rounder.
He took great pride in his career as a Vending Machine Operator with the Navy Exchange for over 40 years where he received many superior accomplishment recognition awards for excellent service.
David met Janet Borde in Bermuda and they married on November 25, 1972. David and Janet had two children, Chantal and Kyle, adding to Janet’s prior children - Denise, Harold, Oswald, Oswin, and Curtis. In the spring of 1985 they relocated to Jacksonville, Florida in search of enhanced opportunities for their children.
David will be remembered for his warm perpetual smile, his exemplary work ethic, his unselfish sacrifices for his family, his love for his wife and children, and his love for the Lord. He was an active member of Saint Matthews Catholic Church.
David was predeceased by his parents Joseph Browne and Vivian Nisbett Browne, his brothers Winston Nisbett and Dennis Browne, and his grandson Khelan Hosang. His memory remains cherished by his loving wife Janet; his children Chantal (GA), Kyle (Erika) (Jacksonville, FL); his siblings Anita Brazier (UK), George Browne (UK), Sonia Mae Murrell (UK), Eudora Browne Lister (Bermuda), Ruthlyn Browne Hill (Nevis) Rhonda Browne (Saint Martin); Uncle Franklyn Nisbett ( Bermuda) step children Denise (Trinidad) Harold (Toronto) Oswald (Trinidad), Oswin (Deborah) (Trinidad) Curtis(Suzanne) (NY); grandchildren Nyasha, Zakiya, Adana, Dominic, Shine, Curt, Talli, Deja, Samuel; great grandchildren Andwelae Janae, Kyrie; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
