Diane Goethe Smith, aged 73, passed away on November 24, 2024. A devoted educator and cherished member of her community, Diane's life will be celebrated on Saturday, December 21, at 11:00 AM at Fort Caroline Baptist Church, located at 11428 McCormick Road, Jacksonville. The service will be officiated by Dr. John Shultz, pastor FBC Macclenny.
Diane graduated from Ribault High School in 1969. She pursued higher education at Jacksonville University and the University of North Florida, earning her graduate degree. Diane dedicated over 30 years to educating students in Duval County.
Diane was a beloved member of Fort Caroline Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Harry Smith; daughters Jennifer Smith and Jeanette (Craig) Mueller; sister, Peggy (Harold) Jones; Grandchild, Carolyn (Richard) Ziminski; great grandchildren Donald and Adeline, numerous nieces and nephews.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Carolyn Williams Goethe.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Fort Caroline Baptist Church or Hospice of Florida.
