

Donald Rufus Longino, 80, passed away of natural causes on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born on October 19, 1934 in Vienna, GA. He was a devoted, loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a strong Christian leader serving many years at Ramona Baptist Church and Westside Baptist Church.
He retired in 1976 from the Army National Guard giving 22 years of service to his country. He retired in 1985 from U.S. Steel Corporation with 30 years of employment. He is preceded in death by his mother Voncile Hall Longino, father Hubert Paul Longino, Sr., and brothers (H.P.) Junior, Cecil and Lee Longino. He is survived by his wife Eva Longino, brothers Walter and Kenneth (Betty) Longino, sisters Carol (Max) New , Barbara (Jerry) Barr, sons Steven (Cindy) and Gregory (Glenda) Longino, daughter Faith (Brian) Painter, nine grandchildren and three great- grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Town & Country Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Westside Baptist Church, 7775 Herlong Avenue, Jacksonville, FL at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park with full military honors given. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the building fund at Westside Baptist Church.
