

JACKSONVILLE- Elizabeth Campbell Bullock, 100, passed away in Jacksonville on January 5, 2014. She was born in Sherman, Texas of Osgood R. Campbell and Mary Irving Campbell in 1913. She graduated from Austin Presbyterian College in Sherman in 1935 and married Dr. James R. Bullock who was a Presbyterian pastor. They had four children: Mary, Jim, Betty, and Bill and lived in Gladewater, TX; New Orleans, LA; Houston, TX and Jackson, TN where he served churches. They moved to Jacksonville in 1972 where Dr. Bullock was Associate Pastor of Riverside Presbyterian Church. He died in 1987. Elizabeth served as an adult Sunday School teacher, deacon, elder and Stephen minister during her years at Riverside. She was also a lifelong tennis player, playing into her nineties on a women’s doubles tennis league for the Riverside Club of Boone Park. She was very proud that all of her four children also played tennis. She was an avid reader and member of the Riverside Manor Book Club. She loved her family, her church and everybody she met and she worked to help others until her death. She was preceded in death by her sister Ellie Landolt, her husband Dr. James R. Bullock and her granddaughter Carey Romano Charland. She is survived by her four children and their spouses. (She disliked the term “in-law” and claimed all of them as her children): Rev. Mary and (Dr. Bill) Beck, Rev. Jim and (Ervin) Bullock, Betty and (Dr. Donnie) Romano, and Bill and (Dr. Sally) Bullock. She was very proud of all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild. Her bright sprit, commitment to her church, love and cheerful service will be missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers a gift may be given to the Riverside Presbyterian Church Memorial Gift Fund 849 Park St., Jacksonville, FL 32204 or to Heifer Project International, PO Box 8058, Little Rock, AR 72203-8058. There will be a graveside service at 9:30 at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery followed by a memorial service at Riverside Presbyterian Church on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 11:00 o’clock.
