

Eva Kate Moore McCook, born December 25, 1925 in Lake Park, GA to Barney and Ida Moore, passed away on May 27, 2018. Eva was the youngest of 13 children, all deceased. She graduated in 1943 from Naylor High School and in 1948 from the St. Vincent's Medical Center Nursing Program. She was a member of Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II. While in training Eva met her future husband Louie R. McCook . They married in 1950 and celebrated 61 years together.
Eva is predeceased by her husband Louie and her sons, Thomas McCook M.D. of Shreveport, LA and Jeffrey Scott McCook of Jacksonville, FL. She is survived by sons, Barry McCook M.D. (Pamela) and Marc McCook (Terry); six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Eva retired from nursing, a profession she loved, in 1991. The last 23 years of that time she worked in the Surgical Recovery Room (PACU) at St. Vincent's. She was a member of Park Lane Baptist Church for more than 50 years.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 2 from 2:00 - 3:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 3:00 pm with burial to follow. In lieu of flowers Eva wished for donations to be made to either Park Lane Baptist Church, Community Hospice, or a charity of your choosing.
