Floride Daisy Bailey

Floride Daisy Byrd Bailey, 81, of Jacksonville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 11, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was born at Eight Mile Camp in Lafayette County, FL. She married her husband, Thomas Cleo Bailey in 1948. They celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary on February 10th. She continuously served her Lord by always putting others before herself. She was a wonderful cook and was loved by her large, close-knit family and many friends. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Thomas C. Bailey, and their children, Winona Goff, Mark (Debbie) Bailey, Gloria (Rollie) Slade, Debbie (Carl Pegel) O’Steen, and Neal (Shari) Bailey; 12 grandchildren, and 16 great –grandchildren; sisters, Nedra (Ellis) Warren, and Dale (Kenny) King; brother, Richard Byrd, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Gorden, and Daisy Byrd; 1 sister, Delores Byrd; 5 brothers, Buren, Spence, Laverne, Nathan, and Daniel Byrd. The family visitation to greet friends will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Jones Road Baptist Church, 2506 Jones Road, Jacksonville, FL. A Celebration of her life will be Friday, March 15, 2013 at 11:00am, Jones Road Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park (on Normandy) Jacksonville, FL. Funeral Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. 32205. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully asks that donations be sent to Northeast Florida Community Hospice.
