

Chief Warrant Officer 4 retired, Gary Lester Hagood, 66, passed away on June 20, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. CWO4 Hagood was born October 11, 1958, in Hatton, AL. He was the son of William Gorman and Mae Belle Hagood.
Gary enlisted in the U.S. Navy on April 26, 1975. He attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer Grade 04 and retired on February 28, 2005, from the Afloat Training Group in Mayport, Florida after 30 years of distinguished service. He enjoyed spending time on the water in his boat whether it was inland or ocean waters. Additionally, he liked to ride his motorcycle and spend time in the great outdoors. He was very handy with tools and building things and was always willing to use his skills to help others in need.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline O’Connor-Hagood of Jacksonville, FL His brothers Steven, Bill, and William Hagood and his sister Janet Hagood, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Gary will be held Monday, June 30, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225. A funeral service will occur Monday, June 30, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225. A graveside service will occur Monday, June 30, 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
