

Doc was born July 24,1949 in Allentown, Pennsylvania the son of William and Grace Dougherty. He was blessed to be raised by his foster parents Henry and Irene Seidel of Pennsylvania and Arthur and Florence Swan of Texas.
Doc served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged from Special Forces 5th Group. He continued to serve his country and retired from Civil Service. After retirement he continued to work in the security field.
Doc had a passion for adventure and travel. During his teenage years he made his way to Texas via train hopping where he met the love of his life at a church service. Doc married Kathleen Ann Dougherty (Cannon) September 12, 1969, in Kingsville, Texas.
Doc was a very private man that loved his family including the four-legged members Sheba, Major and Ray. He loved feeling the wind blow on him on the back of a Harley and the beauty of nature especially his roses. He also had a passion for music which he expressed through writing, singing and playing his guitar.
Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years Kathleen A. Dougherty; daughter Bobbie L. Palmer and husband Charles; three grandchildren, Charles “Brian” Palmer Jr. and wife Maegan, Madeline L. Palmer, Joshua J. Palmer; and great grandchild Kaden L. Grant. Preceding Doc in death are parents, foster parents, siblings, and son John David Dougherty.
No visitation or services will be held at Doc’s request.
