George was born in Miami, Florida and moved to Jacksonville in 1933. He attended Andrew Jackson High School and the University of Florida where he obtained a degree in Pharmacy. George was drafted into the Army and served as a Sergeant First Class in the Korean War.
George was employed as a pharmacist at Baptist Medical Center and Methodist Hospital for several years. It was at Baptist Medical Center where he met his beloved wife of 53 years, Nancy. George was an avid University of Florida Gator football fan.
George is survived by his two sons, Michael McCallum (Molly) and John McCallum and his grandchildren, Madeline, Trevor, Tyler and his grand dog, Libby.
