Gilbert C. Davis, age 84, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born March 17, 1929 in Waycross, Georgia to Hirem and Ida (Crews) Davis. Gilbert was a veteran of the United States Army. He was also a member of the Edgewood Heights Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Gilbert will be missed dearly by his loving wife of 59 years, Jean C. Davis; two sons, Rick Davis (Rita) and ronnie Davis (Trisha); one sister Betty Jean King; five grandchildren, Clint (Tonnie), Mechelle, Misty (David), Will and Chad; six great grandchildren, Hailey, Kailey, Riley, Brooke, DJ and Luke. Family will receive friends and family 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32205. www.townandcountryfuneralhome.com.
