

Grace was born in New York City on November 14, 1937. Always a diligent student, Grace was awarded an academic scholarship to the prestigious Bellevue Hospital School of Nursing in New York City, where she met Anibal (Al), her loving husband of 65 years.
After graduation, Grace and Al moved to Boston where they started their family. The young couple eventually moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1964 where they raised their family of four girls in their Clifton neighborhood home. Grace was a cherished member of the Clifton Neighborhood Civic Association, Japonica Garden Club, and Red Hats Society. She enjoyed art, the Jacksonville Symphony, traveling, reading, gardening, family dinners, managing her husband's medical practice and her Tuesday morning breakfast group.
Grace is survived by her husband, Anibal; daughters Barbara Sanchez-Salazar (Gary Wothe), Patricia Fechtel (Mark), Donna Sanchez-Salazar (Nick Norfleet), and Audrey Sanchez-Salazar (Charles Posmer); grandchildren; Christen Fechtel Stevens (Bobby), Luke Fechtel (Bailey), Kevin Posmer, Alejandro Wothe, Jessica Sanchez-Salazar, Caitlin Fechtel Farnoly (Joe), Steven Posmer, Isabel Wothe Snyder (Wesley), Maria Wothe (Ji-Ho Lee), Marisa Posmer; and great-grandchildren, Abigail Stevens, Emma Stevens, Ryan Stevens, and Elizabeth Farnoly.
Grace will be remembered for her strength of character, quiet elegance, kindness, intelligence, witty sense of humor, her devotion to family, amazing culinary skills, and her love for her many pets.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, 11/24/25 from 2pm to 6pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to Community Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeast Florida.
