

Harris was born August 13, 1926, in Jacksonville, FL to John and Stella Stebbins. He was the beloved husband of Leneta H. Stebbins for 65 years. Harris fathered eight children whom he loved and cherished every day of his life. He served his country during World War II by enlisting in the Navy and received an honorable discharge. After his stint in the Navy, he became a sheet metal worker and was the Foreman for National Sheet Metal at the Maxwell House location for many years. He had many hobbies and interests, he was an avid college football fan, marathon runner, angler, and dancer. He also coached pop warner football and little league baseball when his sons were young. As one of the founding members of the Jacksonville Track Club, he participated in many fun runs and marathons. He then discovered his love for bass fishing and participated in many tournaments. He shared his love of fishing with others by taking family and friends on fishing trips. In later years he served as caregiver for his beloved wife, Leneta. He was a founding and lifetime member of Blessed Trinity Parish. Harris will forever be remembered by his beloved children Harris E. Stebbins, Leneta Moore, Juanita Winn (David), John Stebbins, William Stebbins (Donna) and Regina Stebbins (Erich), many treasured grandchildren and great grandchildren. Harris was preceded in death by his beloved wife Leneta H. Stebbins, his beloved daughter, Lorna Norris (Mike) and his beloved son, Joseph Stebbins (Elaine).
Visitation for Harris will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 5:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225. A rosary service will occur Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 6:00 PM, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225. A mass of Christian burial will occur Friday, April 5, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 10472 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32246. A committal service will occur Friday, April 5, 2024, at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, Florida 32225.
A repast after the committal service will be provided in the Hardage Giddens Chapel Hills event room.
