Helen Elizabeth Kress

Helen Elizabeth Kress, passed away on May 13, 2015. She was born on August 28, 1939 and was raised in Morgantown, WV. It was in California on December 14, 1960 that her 54 years of married life began with her husband, Leonard “Len” Anthony Kress. Blessed with five children and a busy life, she was the cornerstone of family gatherings and traditions. She enjoyed traveling with Len and being able to share in all the important events of her family’s lives. Her grandchildren will remember that Grandma was always ready for a game or a puzzle. When she wasn’t playing games, she could be found in her sewing room stitching fabric into quilts. It was her desire that each new addition have their own “special blanket from Grandma.” She is survived by husband Len Kress; children Donald (Cecy), Ronald (Nancy), Leonard (deceased), Allison (Michael) and Kit; grandchildren Donnie, Valerie, Marisol, Beth Ann, Savannah, April, Kenny, Ashley, Alicia, Chris, Rachel, Tommy, Cullin; Great-Grandchildren; Brandon, Nate, Gabby, Ray Ray, Madison, Nick, Olivia, Grace, Raisa, Jacob, Mallory, Abby and Jaxson. She was predeceased in death by her parents Dominick and Mary Evelyn Yoney; brothers Ralph Yoney and Bobby Yoney. The family will receive friends and family on Sunday, May 17, 2015 from 10:00 -11:30 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL with service following at 11:30 am. Interment will be at 9:00 am Monday, May 18, 2015 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
