
Mr. Henry G. Wallis, Jr. passed away January 15, 2018. He was born June 7, 1933 in Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Wallis served in the US Army from 1953 through 1955. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal. He then attended Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida.
Mr. Wallis retired from Standard Oil/Chevron after 26 years of service and also retired from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office as a Civilian Certified Courthouse Bailiff after 17 years of service. Mr. Wallis loved old cars and listening to old country music. Mr. Wallis was a beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Mr. Wallis is survived by his sons, Henry G. Wallis III and Randall S. Wallis (Donna Bennett); daughter, Rhonda Wallis Kelley (Dwayne); sister, Barbara Beckley (Don); grandchildren, Matt Wallis, Samantha Wallis Lawson and Brooke Kelley; and great grandchildren, Uriah Lawson, Jace Wallis and Dakota Wallis.
Mr. Wallis was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Frances M. Wallis and his son, John Charles Wallis.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted by his nephew, Reverend Melvin Lane on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
